Bill Burns holds a Master’s degree in Fine Art from University of London – Goldsmiths College, London, UK (1988). His work about nature and civil society has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York; the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; the Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul; the ICA London; and the KW in Berlin.
In the past few years Burns has participated in international biennials at Quebec City, Quebec, Ushuai, Argentina, Havana, Cuba and St Etienne, France and has been Visiting Artist at the Royal College, London; Sothebeys Institute, New York; and La Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris.
His recent books include Three Books and an Audio CD about Plants and Animals and War (Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther Konig, Cologne, Germany, 2011); Dogs and Boats and Airplanes told in the form of Ivan the Terrible (Space Poetry, Copenhagen, Denmark, 2011); and Hans Ulrich Obrist Hear Us, (Black Dog Publishing, London, UK, 2015).
