Veronica Verkley

2D & 3D Studies

Veronica Verkley is a media artist and sculptor based in Dawson City Yukon, where as well as maintaining her practice in her off-grid bush cabin, she is a founding faculty member at the Yukon School of Visual Arts.

Veronica’s work is founded in a wide ranging, exploratory approach, which spans regularly between sculpture, drawing & animatronics, as well as frequent collaborations in film, stop motion animation, and live performance.

Her exhibitions range from public art commissions; Ecolage (Toronto), Tom Thompson Gallery(Owen Sound); screenings: Norway, Alaska, Haida Gwaii, Sydney Australia, Kyoto Japan; and shows: Ottawa Art Gallery (Northern Scene); Films from the North (Tromsø Norway); Video Pool (Winnipeg); Birch Contemporary (Toronto), Yukon Arts Centre (Whitehorse), the Natural and Manufactured (Dawson City Yukon), Mercer Union, A Space, DeLeon White, InterAccess, McMaster Museum of Art, Durham Art Gallery (Ontario); Cold Cuts Video (Dawson City),Yukon Women in Film (Vancouver Film Fest), OK Quoi?( New Brunswick), and the Esker Foundation Project Space (Calgary).
