The Dawson City Arts Society operates the Klondike Institute of Art and Culture, an organization with a broad mandate to promote arts in the community and in the Yukon Territory. Yukon SOVA is one of the initiatives that DCAS is involved in. KIAC also operates the Odd Gallery, with an ongoing schedule of exhibitions from local, national and international artists. The Odd Gallery also operates the McCauley House artist’s residence, which houses visiting artists for periods of one to three months. KIAC organizes courses, and presents plays, films, and musical events throughout the year, and also hosts two festivals, the Dawson City International Short Film Festival and the Yukon Riverside Art Festival.

The Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in’s cultural center, Dänojá Zho, also hosts workshops, courses, exhibits, films and special events throughout the year. The Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in heritage department is a valuable resource for students in the SOVA program. Students will be issued a protocol manual that describes how resources can be accessed and how they should be used appropriately.
